Introduction: The point in a body at which the resultant pressure acts when the body is immersed in a fluid. The apparatus for center of pressure. Objective: The object of this experiment was to calculate the hydrostatic force a fluid exerts on a submerged plane surface and then compare the experimental hydrostatic force to the theoretical hydrostatic force. Theory: The apparatus defining the physical dimensions, this nomenclature will be used throughout this theory.Whilst the theory for the partly submerged and fully submerged plane is the same, it will be clearer to consider the two cases separately. The apparatus can make the calculation center of pressure. A fluid at rest is said to be a static condition. the fluid particle experiences a constant pressure on all sides acting inward towards a single point at its center. New Dynamics in Marketing

Question: Discuss about the New Dynamics in Marketing. Answer: Introduction With rapid globalization and increased competition across the world organizations have started improving their qualities as well as services to maintain their existing customers along with gaining more new customers. Relationship marketing or modern marketing is the new phenomenon which is adapting to the needs of worldwide development of the business (Egan, 2008) . Modern marketing is emerging as fast catching trend that assists the company to manage long-term relationships with their participants for example the suppliers, competitors, employees, customers as well as others that impact the business. However traditional marketing theories as well as practices have always focussed on attracting new customers for the purpose of making the sales (Harwood et al., 2008). This report will also analyse the shift of traditional marketing form just being customer centric to modern marketing that involves building long term relationships with stakeholders that involves customers as well. Difference between Traditional Marketing and Modern Marketing Traditional marketing is quite different from modern or societal marketing and the major difference can be seen in the scope of their message. The major factor in current scenario is whether societal interests are part of marketing strategies or not. However, it has been found that modern marketers do not have any issues or problems with the traditional marketing concepts. In case of some organizations for example the computer and electronics retailer TigerDirect , they have started updating their titles from just being traditional ones , to the marketing titles that also describe their functions as well as roles in the new era of marketing (Oracle, 2012). Factors Causing the Shift of Traditional Marketing towards Modern Marketing Due to information explosion with the rise of internet and rapid globalization, the markets are turning out to be highly competitive across the globe. Thus it becomes all the more crucial to develop as well as maintain long-term commercial relationships with not just the customers but also with the service providers, economic partners, financial partners etc., at varied levels of marketing channels in this broad business environment(Christopher et al., 1991). The modern marketing developed through three stages which includes - the production era, the sales era as well as the era of the marketing concept. During the production era the major cause of shift towards modern marketing came from the Industrial Revolution. With the introduction of machinery along with steam power that replaced the manual labour , products were being produced in huge quantities and large scale distribution was required this gave rise to modern marketing. Further globalization of the markets and advent of tech nology in the form of mobile phones, tablets and laptops required that the companies should connect with the customers in real-time (Benady, 2014). Some other reasons that have brought this shift in marketing from traditional to modern marketing are: customers really do not want to be disturbed or interrupted, moreover there are no more mass channels. It has become very hard to reach buyers mainly the young and etch-savvy ones using traditional marketing channels as well as media outlets (Mukerjee, 2009). On the other hand various new technologies like mobile and broadband have combined with social computing and have developed a Cambrian Explosion where experiments are done with marketing channels as well as media. This kind of fragmentation has lead to diminishing effect of traditional marketing and has simultaneously helped in creating better opportunities to connect with the customers in new ways using modern marketing channels. Moreover marketing cannot nowadays get away by simp ly standing not accountable like traditional marketing. The new modern marketing channels like Pay per Click (PPC or search engine marketing) have resulted in increased expectations for making marketing much more accountable (Rahnama Beiki, 2013). The money does not get wastes like it gets in traditional marketing channels like television etc. Factors Impacting Marketing (PESTEL Analysis) PESTEL is the well known acronym which is used in marketing planning and helps in reviewing the broader forces which are also referred to as macroenvironment that help in shaping the business. PESTEL analysis the topmost marketing model which is being used in digital marketing or the modern marketing. HMV, a famous UK music retailer, for years together ignored the PESTEL factors and failed to address the sociological effect of Internet, mainly the factor of online retailing. This lead to the drop in sales of the company and the emerging organizations like Spotify and Napster , offered the download services as well as music streaming, thus made HMV totally redundant in current markets (Jones, 2002). Political Factors: The political environment has a strong impact on the marketing decisions and thus impacts traditional marketing. The political environment comprises of pressure groups, laws or the governmental agencies which either limit or cast impact on the organizations in the society (Rahnama Beiki, 2013). Legislations that impact business across the globe have also enhanced in the past few years. There are laws that include fair trade practices, product safety, truth advertising, pricing, packing labelling etc. Many nations have gone far and wide than US and have passed strong consumerism legislations. For example in Norway many forms of sales promotions , contests, trading stamps as well as premiums are banned and considered inappropriate or supposed to be unfair methods of promoting products (Lehtisaari, 2015). European countries have strict pollution laws imposed by governments and that is why companies like Toyota have started manufacturing hybrid vehicles to conform to those laws. Social Factors : The study of demography is very crucial factor which the modern marketers use for modern marketing , as it covers people and in turn it is these people who make-up the markets. The growth of population is happening at an explosive rate and it is estimated that it will exceed 7.9 billion by the year 2025 (Lehtisaari, 2015). This major rise in population brings both challenges as well as opportunities in traditional marketing. The modern marketing therefore needs to keep a closer track on the demographic developments as well as trends happening in the markets. The track of demographic changes needs to be kept both locally at home as well as globally so that proper marketing strategies can be designed. That is how social factors impact traditional marketing. Sustainable marketing is critical part of modern marketing for example Tobacco companies need to mention statutory warning on each and every cigarette packet and they can sell them to specific target groups only or oversell them. Economic Factors: The economic environment that impacts the marketers includes various factors that also affect the spending patterns as well as purchasing powers of consumers. All the countries have different levels as well as distribution of income. Like the industrial economies offer better marketing opportunities while agriculture based economies offer just few marketing opportunities. The modern marketers should also keep a close watch on the average income along with income distribution patterns for effective marketing as these social factors also impact marketing in critical way (Pondicherry University, 2014). For example giant retail supermarket chains Tesco achieve success in the markets by offering cheaper alternatives as compared to the local supermarkets and it also needs to introduce local produce in their range of products. Environmental Factors: The environmental factors cover the natural environment or resources that are required as inputs by the marketers or get affected by the various marketing activities. Thus it is important that the marketers should be quite aware of the several trends occurring in the natural environment around them. There is rising shortage of raw materials because of air and water pollution and exploitation of natural resources by organizations. Many organizations manufacturing products from scare resources need to keep a check on how they manage and use non-renewable resources. The environment is also getting destroyed because of severe pollution caused by industries that dispose nuclear and chemical wastes and this negatively impacts the natural environment. The third trend is more intervention by government in the management of natural resources. This also impacts the marketing decisions of the companies (Pondicherry University, 2014). For example Starbucks adopts environme nt friendly approach by following corporate social responsibility while sourcing coffee beans for its entire coffee range and promotes ethical behaviour in the African region while sourcing coffee from suppliers. Conclusion In current scenario the emphasis can be clearly seen as the modern marketing is trying to create long term relationships with customers so that they can be retained for long term through long-lasting relationships with stakeholders. The conversations that happen in real-time with people by the brands while they interact through websites or apps has clearly brought major changes in the traditional marketing and shift towards modern trends of marketing. The areas of traditional marketing that have changed due to digital or modern marketing are speed, reach of campaigns as well as their relevance. Political factors like the rules and regulations concerning marketing of products have been more descriptive and these factors also seriously impact the marketing and causing shift of traditional marketing towards modern marketing which considers and takes cares of all the necessary legislations regarding marketing. Modern marketers have tools that help in easily keeping track of the changing family structures, age, educational characteristics, population diversity as well as geographic population shifts and this has lead to the shift of marketing from traditional one towards modern marketing. It is very important for the modern marketers to pay close attention the key trends as well as the spending patterns of the consumers not just within then nation but also in the world across markets. Thus it can be said that various environment related trends like rise in pollution, decrease in non-renewable resources etc. is also causing the shift of traditional marketing towards modern marketing. This is why there are new dynamic of marketing which is bringing about major changes in being a successful marketer by adopting the modern marketing trends. Bibliography Benady, D., 2014. Knowledge Management And Organisational Learning Management Essays

Knowledge Management And Organisational Learning Management Essays Knowledge Management And Organisational Learning Management Essay Knowledge Management And Organisational Learning Management Essay The nucleus aim of this study is to reexamine the current literature on cognition direction ( KM ) and organizational acquisition, peculiarly in relation to the international development field, in order to map out the principle and aims of KM and larning in this field, and to foreground spreads and emerging subjects that will be of particular involvement to development histrions and bureaus. It is portion of the Research and Policy in Development ( RAPID ) programme at the Overseas Development Institute ( ODI ) . Background The intent of ODI s RAPID programme is that better usage be made of research in development policy and pattern, in order to advance evidence-based and pro-poor policies. The programme focuses on nucleus country, viz. improved cognition direction and larning systems in Southern and Northern development bureaus. Since development policy and pattern are mostly formulated and implemented by assorted bureaus runing from multilaterals, through bilateral and authoritiess, to NGOs it is important to recognize the important impact of organizational procedures on the links between research, policy and pattern. This paper s primary purpose is to reexamine the current literature in order to map out the principle and aims of KM and larning within international development, and to place spreads and emerging subjects. Previous work at ODI ODI has already examined some of the issues related to KM and larning in international development through both published documents and undertakings. In 1998, Development as Process ( edited by Mosse, Farrington and Rew ) was published as portion of the ODI Policy Studies Series. In peculiar, the book draws out the importance of societal relationships, and the political relations of information distribution and usage in the context of development undertakings. In 1999, an ODI Working Paper by Baumann, entitled Information and Power , reviewed the literature on information procedures and the deductions for procedure monitoring. The study highlights the troubles in presuming that people in an administration are willing to portion their cognition freely with other organizational staff. The RAPID programme besides builds on old work at ODI refering the moral force of policy procedures ( Sutton, 1999 ) , In 2001, ODI established an Information and Communications Committee to advice on the design and execution of a KM scheme in the institute. This aim has been strengthened with the assignment of a KM Research Officer in July 2003. 1.1.2 What is knowledge direction and organizational acquisition? As an introductory measure it is utile to separate between natural information and cognition ( Edwards, 1994 ) . Natural information may be widely available to a figure of bureaus, but merely some administrations will be able to change over the information into relevant cognition and to utilize this cognition to accomplish their purposes. The procedures by which they do this are known as KM schemes. In the subdivision below on KM in the corporate sector, a farther differentiation will be made between first and 2nd coevals KM schemes. While the first coevals focused on systematizing and commanding bing cognition and cognition sharing within an administration, the 2nd coevals KM schemes have shifted towards heightening the conditions for invention and cognition creative activity ( McElroy, 2000 ) . Challenges and advantages of KM are of course related to challenges and advantages of organizational acquisition, and in the international development field these two sets of issues are frequently examined together. As with the two coevalss of KM schemes, an administration s ability to larn from past experiences can besides be divided into first and 2nd order schemes ( Argyris, 1992 ) . First order schemes concern single cringle acquisition , aimed at rectifying and modifying patterns in order to suit in with an established policy. Second order schemes are those of double cringle larning , which in analogue with 2nd coevals KM strategies purpose to increase the administration s capacity to believe creatively and move innovatively. Reappraisal of the Literature Knowledge direction and acquisition in the corporate sector 2.1The information age workplace A really big sum of the literature on KM and organizational acquisition is available. KM is considered as solution to new challenges of information age. Knowledge and information have become core assets of concerns, who have to happen out to manage these assets in new ways. Traditional fiscal systems designed to cover with physical inputs and end products are no longer sufficient. In order to accomplish competitory advantage, concerns have to portion information more expeditiously and tried to get by with altering environment. This state of affairs forces first coevals to better their cognition sharing within administration ( McElroy, 2000 ) . Now the emerging competitory state of affairs forces the current coevals to concentrate more on organizational procedures and coevals of new cognition to accomplish competitory advantage. For illustration, the most successful administrations are switching from schemes based on anticipation to based on expectancy of surprises ( Savage, 2000 ) . These displacements depend on the type of administration. Accenture s ( 2002 ) has identified four different types of administrations based on different degrees of mutuality and complexness of work state of affairs like procedure, systems, web and competency. 2.2 Significant KM advisers Some of the most important and often cited writers on KM and larning are Argyris ( 1992 ) , Senge ( 1990 ) , Nonaka ( 1995 ) , Levitt and March ( 1988 ) , March ( 1991 ) and Schein ( 1992 ) . Their Centre of focal point is emerging competitory environment. While Argyris ( 1992 ) and Senge ( 1990 ) establish their thoughts as a direction adviser, Nonaka ( 1995 ) utilize his Nipponese concerns experience to determine his political orientation. Senge ( 1990 ) in peculiar focal point on systems believing. He argues that organizational acquisition is merely successful when it based on the good apprehension of administration hierarchy, instead than a focal point on single portion of construction. Argyris ( 1992 ) further develops thought individual and dual cringle acquisition. The aim of individual cringle acquisition is to reconstruct the organizational activity. On the other manus, dual cringle larning Fosters the administration for taking extraordinary measure like invention. It enhances the creativeness of administration. Levitt and March ( 1988 ) are dubious about the capacity of administrations larning from past experience. Their articles highlight considerable restriction about organizational acquisition. Malhotra ( 2001 ) and Stacey ( 1995 ) take a somewhat different position on the function of direction in relation to larning. They use chaos theory to depict semi-confusing information systems ( Malhotra, 2001 ) and nonlinear feedback webs ( Stacey, 1995 ) . Innovation frequently takes topographic point in informal concern environment where persons are interested in the same issues. 2.3 Performance measuring Traditionally administrations use traditional accounting and measuring system to turn out that KM adds value to production procedures or to heighten the efficiency of concern. There are many jobs attached with the traditional accounting system. Chiefly they are non good equipped to cover with intangible assets like cognition. Furthermore, traditional measuring systems are based on costs instead than gain border or added value. ( Ahmed and Zairi, 2000 ) . Traditional measuring systems use prosodies for measuring information. Therefore concern start traveling toward accounting and measuring system that non merely supply information about addition in productiveness through KM but besides intangible assets. These theoretical accounts of public presentation measuring Foster single cringle larning i.e. they enable directors to take immediate disciplinary action if and when procedures are seen to go inefficient but they leave small room for double cringle larning ( Argyris, 1992 ) . 3 Gaps in the Literature and Future Issues Few spreads has identified in the literature about Knowledge direction and acquisition that are really of import and they need to be work on that for the developmental bureaus in the international development field. 3.1 Knowledge management/learning and reactivity Feasible civil society administrations ( CSOs ) provide a platform from which voice of the hapless can be heard in determination and policy-making procedures that affect their lives. However, this can merely be possible if CSO accurately represent the hapless s state of affairs and explicate appropriate responses. It depend on the capableness of CSO to treat information and interpret in effectual mode now the inquiry arises that Can improved KM and larning systems enable them to react to the state of affairs of their beneficiaries more accurately and efficaciously? Edwards ( 1994 ) respond to this inquiry by foregrounding the function of NGO s. He argue that they have democratic value base and accent on openness and non-hierarchical communicating channels. He argues that these built-in values will enable NGOs to utilize their information systems and processes to the benefit of the grassroots communities with which they work. King ( 2001 ) provides a less idealistic analysis of the state of affairs, underscoring that KM and larning procedures do non automatically or needfully do NGOs more antiphonal. He voices concerns about the fact that have so far implemented.

Maths coursework Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Maths coursework - Essay Example Although the function "y=10e^ (-0.175t)", slightly differ from the given values of the graph (between hour 4-7). However, for the all other points, the graph follows the same path as the one given. So we can say that the function "y=10e^ (-0.175t)", is suitable to model the data of the graph. Figure 3 represents the amount of the drug in the bloodstream over a 24-hour period. In the below graph (figure 3) assumption is made that after every six hour 10 Â µg of drug is given to patient and it adds in the drug remained in the bloodstream ( value of constant a in function "y=10e^ (-0.175t)", will change after every six hours). Therefore, the function will change after every six hours as the remaining drug adds into the given drug every six hours. Initially the drug given was 10 Â µg. After six hour, it remains to 3.5 Â µg. Now when 10 Â µg is again give to patient then it will become 13.5 Â µg. Moreover, this pattern will be continues for every six hours. Since we wanted to plot for 24-hour period, so for the second, third and fourth period the function will be " y=13.5e^ (-0.175(t-6)) ", " y=14.7e^ (-0.175(t-12)) "and" y=15.1e^ (-0.175(t-18)) " respectively. The value of t is changed here, so that the graph plotted continuous from the last point, other wise it will start from the starting point. From the figure 5, it can be seen that, when after initially 10Â µg of drug is given to the patient and thereafter no drug is given to the patients then the function "y=10e^ (-0.175t)" is when plotted for week period, the value of y approaches to 0 (actual value will be 0.0524 Â µg) after 30 hours. However, it will never become zero. Figure 6 represents the amount of the drug in the bloodstream over a 24-hour period. In the above graph assumption is made that after every six hour 10 Â µg of drug is given to patient and it adds in the drug remained in the bloodstream ( value of constant a in function "y=10e^ (-0.175t)", will change after
